Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!!!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
I hope that you all had a nice Valentine's Day :)
Mine went fairly well. Last night, Mike and I were supposed to go dinner and a movie, but we had sleet and a lot of snow. It made the roads really really bad so we cancelled it. Maybe next week. Today he surprised me with a teddy bear (I'm a sucker for stuffed animals) and a box of chocolates. :)
We actually managed to get out a bit tonight though. Nothing to interesting - just grocery shopping. The main roads are nice and clear, but we had a bit of trouble getting out of our aprtment complex. When the snowscraping trucks plowed our roads, the piles of snow went to the sides and buried everyone's cars in >.< It was a pain and it required some pushing by Mike and a neighbor, but we made it out :) Oh yeah, and when we got to the store, they were almost out of bread and low on milk.....why is it that whenever it snows, people freak out and buy milk and bread? It happens everytime. It cracks me up XD

Woot! (Westminster post) [13 Feb 2007|11:03pm]
[ mood | content ]

So the last few evenings have been happy evenings for me. The annuel Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show has been telivised live on USA network. This may be a little known fact to some of you all, but I'm pretty passionate about dog shows. :) And this show has been termed "The Superbowl of dog shows" so I am always sure to watch it. I'm also happy because out of all the breeds that won their groups, the one I liked the most, the English Springer Spaniel, won best in show. :D To tell you the truth, I thought the competition was a little fierce. Their were several top-winning dogs up for best in show. I personally thought the Dandie Dinmont Terrier or the Petits Bassets Griffons Vendeen (PBGV) was going to win. Simply because the Dandie Dinmont was a very high-placing dog in general, and I have noticed (through the years of watching shows on TV and attending them) that dog show judges tend to favor the PBGV *resists the urge to write a long essay on politics and biases in the dog show world....trust me, Mike has heard my rant too many times before...*
So congratulations Ch Felicity's Diamond Jim (James)! :D
Ok, I'm gonna end this post now, before I start to bore anyone LOL ;)

wtf? [11 Feb 2007|10:43pm]
[ mood | thirsty ]

so the other day I bought an optical mouse. I am sick of our current mouse getting dust inside the ball area so often and it is such a pain to take it apart to clean it out. So I figures oneof those laser-type mouses would solve my problem. I get it out tonight and get ready to plug it in, when I see this label attached to it:
"WARNING: This product contains chemicals including LEAD the in the state of California, has been shown to cause birth defects and reproductive problems. Wash hands after every use."
WTF????? Needless to say, I shoved that dude back in the packaging it came with and I will be taking it back to the store tomorrow. Keep in mind that this warning did not appear anywhere on the outside package. I hope not all optical mouses carry this warning and have lead in them..or I will be doomed to fight forever with a dusty ball mouse.
On a better note, we went out to diffrent places around the area today. We just had a few errands to do and had to buy a few neccesities. I brought my camera with me and decided to take some pictures of the pretty sky as evening came. The camera didn't do the sky colors justice though...I think I should fiddle around with the settings in the future. Be forwarned that I took most of these pictures in a car that was moving 55 MPH. They are pretty clear though.

My favorites:
A silo with the evening sky in the background:

Some trees with the sky:

I think this picture most closely demonstrates how nice the sky looked:

And I took this photo when we got dinner:

Some other pictures (mostly of fields and the sky):
Some hunters parked by the side of the road:

Flags and a nice blue sky:

Same barn as we passed it at 55 MPH:

Hey everyone :)
I hope everything is going well for you all :)
Not too much has been happening here, hence my lack of posts. So I will just throw out some random stuff:
I bought a tripod tonight. It pretty nice. It can extend to 51 inches tall. I think that it will really help with some future photographs that I have in mind. I originally wasn't going to buy one for awhile, but Mike told me to just go ahead and buy it. :) I already tried it out a bit tonight. It was easy to figure out and it works nicely.
I took some more photos today, while the lighting was good in the house. I'm still trying to decide what to upload to DA. I have so many favorites!
I read online that the planet Saturn will be the closest to Earth tonight and tomorrow that it will be for 2007. It's supposed to be located near the constellation Leo. I tried to look for it tonight, but it was way too cold and I got snow in my shoes. *whine* I'll try again tomorrow.
*points to LJ avator* See that moon photo? That is a photo that I took with my new camera that I am particularly proud of :) I just thought I would show it to you all.
I took it during the full moon this month and I am surprised that I held my camera steady enough for this to come out so good. :) Anyways, I like it.

Snow Photos :D [06 Feb 2007|10:02pm]
[ mood | full ]

It's been snowing here most of the day. I took photos :D
This is outside my apartment:
http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l106/canisequis/SnowyCarsFeb62007.jpg
Here is some snow falling:
http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l106/canisequis/SnowyNightFeb62007.jpg
I took this picture of some trees across the street. I think that it turned out kinda cool. It's kind of dark creepy foresty-looking:
http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l106/canisequis/DarkSnowyTreesFeb62007.jpg
So it snowed quite a bit today. Personally I don't think it is too bad though. Maybe less than 12 inches? (just a guess on my part) In fact it still is snowing. People around here apparently aren't used to a lot of snow and everyone is freaking out, buying lots of groceries, closing stores down, etc. What do Mike and I do? We go out for ice cream! We stayed at the restaurant until they closed down early...around 8:30 pm D:(

We aren't gonna let a little snow ruin our fun :)

Artsy-type photo time! [04 Feb 2007|10:37pm]
[ mood | stressed ]

Yay for messing around with my camera more XD
Mike surprised me with a dozen multicolored roses a few days ago. Flowers are nice to take photos of because they stay completely still and don't complain that you are taking too long to snap the photo. lol
Soooo I just finished uploading the photos to my Photobucket account.
Links are right here... )
Tell me what you all think! :D

Mwahahahaha [23 Jan 2007|11:36pm]

I think a good product would be "Baby Duck Hat." It's a fake baby duck, which you strap on top of your head. Then you go swimming underwater until you find a mommy duck and her babies, and you join them. Then all of the sudden, you stand up out of the water and roar like Godzilla. Man those ducks really take off! Also Baby Duck Hat is good for parties.
- Jack Handey

Mike and I took a trip to Walmart tonight (because Best Buy was closed) so I could see if they carried the digital camera (it's a Canon A540) that I want. And they did! So I spent a good 15 minutes drooling over it and messing around with all the features it has. Mike was playing around with the other cameras and it was fun comparing the photo and brightness/color qualities of the Canon I want versus the other brands. In the end, my Canon won but to be fair, Mike didn't know how to use the different photo-taking brightness features on the cameras. It was fun! I showed Mike all the features of the camera I want on the Canon website, and he was really impressed with it. Thanks again Wolfsjal for all your help and advice! :D
Lets' see... what else have I been up to?
1. Found my old DA account. I updated it with more current information.
2. I changed my website link on my LJ profile from my old Angelfire site to my DA page. I figure I can more easily update art on DA, plus, I just don't feel like dealing with my site right now..or ever. We'll see. I might just start from scratch one day and make an entirely new one. *shrugs*
3. Ate too much Burger King Tonight...stomach ache. Blah.
4. Mike's off work tonight. (Yay!) He's playing House of the Dead 3 right now. We'll probably hang out and watch TV later together. (we are boring LOL)

ummm, I think that's about it. I hope everyone is having a good evening! :D

First official post since I'm back [21 Jan 2007|11:38pm]
[ mood | cheerful ]
[ music | Miami Ink on TV ]

Hey everyone. Man, it's weird posting here since it's been so long. I've really missed everyone!
I haven't worked on art too much lately (lack of inspiration...blah) but I have worked on a few pieces while I was away from the Internet. I will hopefully be getting a digital camera in a month or so (I can't wait!) so I can start to post my art on DevArt again :D I did a large 18X24 charcoal piece of a bull terrier puppy that I am especially proud of. It's framed and hanging in the living room.
Charcoal is fun to work with. It's one of my favorite mediums. I never used it before and when I took my first drawing class at college, I was required to use it. I didn't care for it at first but I have grown to love it. The only thing that bugs me is that I can't go into too much fine detail with it. (As you all have seen on my old art, I love going into detail with fur) But I have kind of learned that it is nice be a little more simplistic and not worry about detail so much. Though I still have to remind myself that sometimes! LOL ;)
Hehe, I'm having fun talking about art stuff! It's been so long. When I try to talk about it with Mike, it's pretty much a one-sided conversation since he doesn't know much about it.
Wolfsjal: I sent you an email!
I hope that everyone is doing well!
I have a nice new computer now so I won't have to worry about computer problems for awhile (our old one broke down which explains part of my Internet absence) and we have a really good Internet service as well now (Mike has discovered the wonders of XBox Live so we need a fast ISP to have it LOL). So I know that I am here (online) to stay! :D

Happy Holidays!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [20 Dec 2004|02:45pm]
[ mood | busy ]
[ music | library people ]

Oh yes, it's been a long time since I updated. So what has Red been up to?
Well, for the last few months I have been without internet service *sob* First our computer was really screwed up, so Mike had to take everything off the computer and reinstall it all again (boy was that a mess!) and now our modem is messed up >:( We are still trying to figure it out and Dell support isn't helping much. Blah.
We made the move back to our renovated apartment. Surprisingly, we actually got back our old place :) It looks like a completely different apartment. I love it :D New tiles, new cabinets in the kitchen, new carpet, new paint, vanities under the sinks in the bathrooms, the list can go on and on. But we found out the day that we moved in is that the construction workers cut the phone wires and we have been without a phone since last Thursday. Grrr
And speaking of dumbass workers, on Friday I went back to our old apartment to make some phone calls since that is the only place that we have a working phone line and I parked in our usual parking spot and went upstairs to our apartment. About 30 mins. later there was a knock at the door. I answered it and one of the contsruction workers told me that he backed into our car with his crane! >:( There is significant damage but at least the car is drivable and the trunk can open. I still have no idea how he did that..... So I gots to go and call insurance today.
And in other *happy* news I became an Aunt for the very first time on Nov. 29. Mike's brother and his wife had a healthy (and overdue!) baby girl :D yay!
Well I gotta get going :( I'm on the library computer and I only have like 6 minutes left. Plus I gotta go yell at the landlord my lack of phone.
I hope everyboday is doing great this time of year and I miss talking to you all! *snugs all her friends*
Take Care!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The World Is MINE! by Demonac
Name:
You will conquer:Asia (except for Japan, because it turns out their "police" have heavy weapons and attack helicopters).
Your title will be:Lady (regardless of gender)
You will succeed by:Terrorism (assaulting the world with Olsen Twins movies).
Your Enforcers will be:Ninjas (they flip out and kill people).
Your first act as ruler:Have your Home Town wiped from the face of the Earth.
Created with quill18's MemeGen!

Sounds about right, but isn't Olsen Twins movies a bit much for terrorism?!? I mean, Gods, that is just going a little too far? Not even I can get through one of their horrid movies without feeling the urge to vomit.

Back online [29 Nov 2003|05:34am]
[ mood | a mix of emotions ]

Couldn't go back to sleep, so I'm gonna hang out online for awhile.
Anyways, on the 26th, I turned 24 years old. I feel old.

Wolfsjal, Thanks so much for the wonderful birthday art!!! I love eeet! It's so beautiful and I love the inkwork! I'll email you after I go back to sleep (so I can think more clearly)
I also got another surprise in my email. It turns out that one of the pictures I submitted into ElfWood was chosen for Moderator's Choice on the 24th :) It came to a complete shock for me since #1 I never had a Moderator's Choice before and I certainly wasn't expecting it, and #2 I wasn't too overly fond of the picture they chose. But hey, I guess they liked it so I'm not complaining.
My birthday went nicely though, Mike bought me SeaWorld Tycoon for my computer, Mike's Mom got me a Yankee candle (one of those big ones in a jar) It smells great too! and Gary got me the movie, A Christmas Story. I love that movie and it recently came out of DVD as a 20th anniversary 2 disc collecter set thingie.
Happy belated Thanksgiving to everyone too!

Just letting everyone know that I'll be offline till the 26th of the month (which also is, coincidentally, my birthday)
We are signing up for a DSL internet provider (yay for fast internet access!) and we have to cancel AOHell because we don't feel like being billed for a month of internet that we won't be using.

Take care everyone!

Did you ever have some kind of a weird dream involving a bunch of people that you don't know and you say a lame pun to try and get them to laugh but they don't? It's disturbing.
I did a few sketches the last couple days. I am very happy with one of them. That one will definantlty be a finished piece.
*shrugs* The other one *might* turned into an ink piece or something. I haven't figured it out yet.
Mmm, I finally have some ideas of what to get Mike for Christmas. (Mike is usually hard to buy for since the things that he really likes can be pricey..like video games, video game systems, and swords)

resting.
I saw the doctor. She was really nice (it was my first time seeing her) but she couldn't do much for my cough. I just have to wait til it goes away..though its better now than it was a few days ago. I did get a flu shot. I feel better knowing that I am covered in that area at least. My left arm is sore.
I haven't been drawing at all the last few days. I know that I don't feel good when I don't draw. erf. Maybe I'll try today ot tomorrow.
I hope that everyone has a good week and that everyone is staying well!!!!
